Shipping Policy
Last Updated: September 2026
At LaFayette Couture, we offer our clients the convenience of choosing from shipping services provided by independent third-party carriers. Shipping services are separate from LaFayette Couture, and the carrier is responsible for the transportation and delivery of your package after it has been handed over to the carrier.
1. Shipping Carriers
Depending on the destination and available services, clients may choose from shipping options provided by independent carriers, including:
- FedEx
- UPS
- DHL
- USPS
We generally recommend FedEx, UPS, or DHL for valuable evening gowns and time-sensitive deliveries because they offer a variety of tracking, delivery, and shipping service options. However, the final choice of carrier and shipping service is entirely the client’s responsibility.
2. Shipping Rates and Delivery Times
Shipping rates, delivery dates, delivery estimates, insurance options, and other shipping conditions are determined by the selected carrier and may vary depending on the destination, package size, weight, shipping service, and other circumstances.
LaFayette Couture does not guarantee any specific shipping rate, delivery date, transit time, or shipping service.
Any delivery estimates displayed or communicated to the client are estimates provided by the applicable carrier and are not guaranteed by LaFayette Couture.
3. Carrier Delays, Lost or Damaged Packages
Once an order has been transferred to the selected shipping carrier, the carrier is responsible for the shipment while it is in transit.
LaFayette Couture is not responsible for:
- Delays caused by the shipping carrier;
- Missed or postponed delivery dates;
- Packages lost or misplaced by the carrier;
- Packages damaged during transportation;
- Incorrect delivery by the carrier;
- Weather-related or other transportation disruptions;
- Customs delays, inspections, duties, or other customs-related issues;
- Carrier service interruptions, strikes, or operational problems; or
- Any other circumstances occurring after the package has been accepted by the carrier.
If a package is delayed, lost, damaged, or otherwise affected while in the carrier’s possession, the client should contact the selected carrier directly and follow the carrier’s procedures for filing a claim or requesting an investigation.
4. Tracking
When tracking information is available, it will be provided to the client or made available through the applicable shipping service.
Clients are responsible for monitoring their shipment using the tracking information provided by the carrier.
5. Shipping Address
Clients are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at the time of purchase.
LaFayette Couture is not responsible for delays, additional shipping charges, or delivery problems resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the client.
If you believe that you have entered an incorrect shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to assist; however, we cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has been processed or transferred to the carrier.
6. International Shipments
For international shipments, the recipient may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.
Such charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping charge unless expressly stated otherwise.
LaFayette Couture does not control customs processing times or decisions and is not responsible for customs delays, inspections, duties, taxes, or fees imposed by the destination country.
7. Shipping Insurance and High-Value Items
For evening gowns and other high-value merchandise, clients may wish to select a shipping service that provides appropriate tracking and insurance or declared-value protection.
The client is responsible for reviewing the carrier’s insurance, declared-value, claims, and liability terms before selecting a shipping service.
LaFayette Couture does not guarantee that a carrier’s insurance or declared-value protection will cover the full value of an item.
8. Client’s Selection of Carrier
By selecting a shipping carrier and shipping service, the client acknowledges that the shipping service is provided by an independent third party and agrees to the carrier’s applicable terms and conditions.
LaFayette Couture may assist the client with general shipping information or provide available carrier options, but the client makes the final decision regarding the carrier and shipping service.
9. Questions or Assistance
If you have questions about available shipping options before placing an order, please contact our boutique team. We are happy to provide available carrier options and assist you in selecting a shipping service based on your preferences.
